Sermon Summary
Let’s Celebrate
For our third service, Pastor Larry Jones from New Salem Baptist preached a powerful word about celebration. We have reason to celebrate because our victory in Jesus is assured. Everything that was designed against us has failed. Our air, water, and food is all contaminated and yet, we survive. We have survived ourselves: our mistakes, our bad choices, and our personal weaknesses. So much of our trouble is self-inflicted. We spend time trying to cover up our sins. Yet, God is working for our victory. If you are committed to living in victory, you have reason to celebrate.
Luke 15:22-24
22 But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.
- Every believer must recognize those things that deserve to be celebrated – We live from a place of assured victory if we will partner with the Lord.
- The son knew the father had something he needed – The father saw his prayer answered when he saw his son coming. He called for a celebration.
- If you cannot see your blessings, then you cannot celebrate – Stand on your tiptoes looking for the next blessing.
