This week, Pastor Chris continued our Hebrews series with a powerful message about the Bible. God has given us the incredible gift of His Word, which answers our deepest questions, guides our steps, and refreshes our souls. Through the living Word, God is actively engaging with humanity, inviting us to know both Him and ourselves more deeply.

Psalm 119:105 (MSG)

God’s Living Word is Seen in its Power
- It has the power to accomplish its intended purpose (Isaiah 55:10-11).
- It works effectively in those who believe (1Thessolians 2:13).
- It can build us up and give us the inheritance that is ours (Acts 20:32).
- It can make us complete for all good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
- The gospel in particular has the power to save (Romans 1:16-17, James 1:21).
- Just reading God’s Word can lead to salvation (1 Peter 1:22-23, James 1:18).

Discussion Questions:
- In John 6:63, Jesus speaks of the words He speaks bringing life. How do you think the Bible has the power to give life in your daily life?
- How do we ensure we are receiving God’s Word as a life-giving force, rather than just a text to be read?
- Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word of God as sharper than any two-edged sword. What does it mean for the Bible to be a “weapon” in your life?
- Isaiah 55:10-11 shows that God’s Word will not return empty. What does this mean for how we share God’s Word with others?
Application Questions:
- What is one way you can intentionally apply the truth of today’s sermon to your personal walk with God this week?
